With aggressive new looks for 1982, and even better handling in a trimmer package, the third generation Pontiac Firebird saw impressive an sales increase. A standard five-speed manual gear box, new four speed automatic option, and more engine choices highlighted Pontiac’s 1983 Firebirds. The mid-line S/E started at $10,322. Tougher competition cut F-bird sales more than 50 percent to 74,884.
