71983 Pontiac Grand Prix Promo Dealer Training Video
Despite few changes, Pontiac’s Grand Prix registered slightly higher 1983sales of close to 86,000. Of those only 12 percent were garnered by the top-line Brougham model, it started at $9781, $1083 over the base coupe!
145HP from a 5-liter V8. Hilariously bad. I guess it wasn’t worth it to get your hopes up in the 80’s when you were looking at a GM product.
Those Brougham seats look so bad.
1983 equivalents of the grand prix:
Ford LTD crown victoria(since apparently the regular LTD could only get up to the 3.8): 5.0L, 145HP.
Chrysler Fifth Avenue: 5.2L, 130HP.
i’d say the grand prix was at least level compared to the other US competition.
Much different than my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. Got the feeling from this 1983 GP, that if you didn’t want an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, you could choose a sportier GP. But to me they looked just alike. I still love all GM products from that time period and today.
All cars of that era were low on power.
Thank you for sharing the video. That V8 went up to a 150 hp a little after that. The Grand Prix LE would have been more to a sport taste. It appeared in 1984. They sold a lot of those Grand Prixs too.
PRE 1986-87 GRAND PRIX 2+2 FASTBACK MODERN MUSCLE CAR CLASSIC ROCK AWESOME 😀
Nothing says excitement like a landau roof, the color brown, and ridiculously padded seats! Thanks for posting. I always enjoy these videos.
