The Division’s J-car, Cavalier, sported restyled front and rear sheet metal. Front and rear appearance changes aside, all five Cavalier body styles were carried over including the mid-1983 convertible. Engine and transmission combinations were the same as those offered previously with the 2.0 pushrod throttle body injected L-4 powerplant mated to either a 4 or 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic.
