Nissan introduced the Pulsar NX, an inexpensive car with spritely ways and sporty lines. Then, Pontiac unveiled the Fiero, a little mid engined 2-seater the divisional management team called a mini commuter in order to sell the idea to GM corporate head, simultaneously promising the enthusiast world great performance in the future. And then Honda, the people who made it simply showed the world how to do it: The new Civic CRX coupe captured both driving fun and operating economy in a way sure to be the benchmark in this new category of car.
