For its final season, the X-bodied Phoenix compact came in the same body styles and trim levels with little change. the base engine was Pontiac’s own 2.5 liter iron duke four cylinder with fuel injection hooked to a manual four speed transmission. A high output 2.8 liter V6 was optional along wtih the Y99 handling suspension.
