01984: What the L is this?
Was this the next generation Chevrolet Citation? Developed under the GM25 designation, the 5-passenger front drive sedan was Chevy’s next all new car. A public debut schedule for early October 1986, the new sedan was to compete with new versions of Nissan’s Stanza, Toyota Camry, and Honda Accord. Like some of the Japanese competitors, the L-car would be offered in 4-door sedan and hatchback guises But in an effort to keep GM’s marketing endeavors on a single track the new model would only be sold as a Chevy. Can anyone guess what this ended up being?
