The Dodge Daytona Hatchback received a number of modest but welcome changes. The front drive 2+2 now offered remote fuel filler and decklid releases, a new enthusiast seat, 5-bolt wheels, bigger brakes, and optional 205/60HR15 rubber (standard on the high-line Turbo model) in place of the 195’s used in 1984.
Chrysler continued to do well with its collection of Mitsubishi built imports. The Dodge-Plymouth Colt Turbo was an all new player based on the front drive Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo introduced in Japan a year earlier, but was superior to its predecessor in just about every way. Powertrain in all was the 102 hp 1.6 liter turbo with a 5-speed manual gearbox. All Turbos came with an upgraded interior that included better bucket seats, a center console, a boost gauge, and a sport steering wheel.
