01985 Renault Fuego Test Drive
The only French-built Renaults sold in this country for 1985 were the Sportwagon (nee Renault 18i wagon) and the Fuego coupe. Both cars now had 14-inch wheels and larger 2.2-liter normally aspirated engines. Rumors circulated that in 1986, a restyled version of the V-6 Alpine A-310 would be offered on AMC dealer’s lots, along with the big Renault 25 luxury car and Espace minivan. We could only have been so lucky.
