01985 Toyota Cressida Test Drive
Extensively rework for 1985, Toyota’s new Cressida sedan received sleeker sheet metal, and a roomier interior, and scads of new electronic gadgets and gizmo’s. Front engine rear drive layout has been retained along with the 2.8 liter overhead cam 6 cylinder, which made 156 horsepower. There was a choice of a 5-speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission. New Cressida standards included a Toyota electronic modulated suspension system, a burglar alarm, a premium level stereo with equalizer and the service reminder trip computer.
