01987 Ford Bronco II Manufacturer Promo
Ford’s compact SUV had the same type of Twin-I-Beam front suspension as its big brother Bronco. That was one reason the Bronco II appeared to have a taller body. Its suspension needed more vertical room to flex. So the entiner was set higher off ground level. From that, all other parts of the vehicle rise, along with the center of gravity. Ford offered the smaller Bronco with 2- or 4-wheel drive. A 140-horsepower 2.9-liter V-6 was the only engine, but you could order either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. All the car-like power options that gave compact utes their wide appeal were available on the Bronco II.
