111988 Eagle Premier Test Drive
A Renault remnant from the 1987 takeover of AMC, the 1988 Premier helped launch Chrysler’s Eagle division as a Canadian-built front-drive mid-size sedan with a 3.0 Renault V-6. Badges read Eagle.
OMG, YES! I test drove an ES back in 96 off of the Eagle dealers lot and absolutely loved the thing, The Jensen sound system with the EQ was astounding as was all the switchgear in the car. The Limited was my FAVORITE one but haven’t see one of those in years. Freat FIND MAN! Thanks!
Glad you like! Ive been holding onto this one for a while. not sure why, just have. I had one as a rental in highschool, and remember it being so large! I like the top line Dodge version!
I LOVE the Limited, especially in red. Very sharp!
*great*
Btw did you know that the original Viper used the Premier’s front calipers on it’s rear? Lifted straight from the car with no modifications either. The Coupe version of this car was very nice although it didn’t make it into production. There’s some guy with a site that has the prototypes of the coupe in his basement, check it out.
Hey Baja!!! Thanks so much. YOu know, I own a 89 that I’ve had since 89!!!! Still love the car. This was the bais of the LH series of Cars for Chrysler thru the 90’s. AMC did a great job revamping it. It really looks nothing like the Renault 35 which it was based off of. Also, love the Renault badge! They were removed from the car before they were sold by Eagle. They used a slightly stylized version of the AMC Eagle emblem introduced by AMC in 1979
I LIKE 1988 EAGLE PREMIER VERY SMOOTH LUXURY CAR I HAD 1990 AND 91 EAGLE BROCHURE VERY RARE
Too bad the 5 speed and the coupe never made it into production.
Anymore Premier/Monaco things Baja? Just picked up a 91 Monaco for cheap
and just picked up a 1991 eagle premier in mont condition. 240km!
I mean mint 😉
