1988 Ford Crown Victoria Test Drive
The last of the aircraft carriers at Ford, the 1979 vintage Dearborn staple LTD Crown Victoria were still selling quite well. They owed their success to updated styling for and aft with a new face and tail for 1988, an enormous interior, marshmallow ride and a powerful, quiet engine. You can’t really speak of their aerodynamics or fuel consumption, as they were no longer in line with the times, but more of their traditional American comfort. The two-door coupe was discontinued.
