1988: Ford was Exploring a four door Bronco II
The 4-door SUV market was heating up quickly in the late 80’s. Ford, undaunted by the mammoth sales success of Chrysler’s Jeep Cherokee, was putting final touches on a Bronco II with two extra doors. Originally debuting on the 1989 Ford Ranger pickup the front end treatment was to be the face of the 1990 4-door sport utility.
