1989: Batman’s new Formula
Were Pontiac and Hollywood joining forces to turn celluloid fancy into General Motors Fact? This illustration from a photograph indicated that the Batmobile we knew from the TV show was making a comeback. The distinctive wide mouth air intakes and droop snoot look, moved Pontiac’s F-car along the road until 1993, when the following F-car debuted. Apparent cues from the widely displayed Pontiac Banshee “concept car,” an auto show vehicle, clearly the inspiration for the 93 Firebird.
