1989 Isuzu I-Mark RS Turbo Preview

While Isuzu’s OA-III received most of the attention during the 1988 auto shows, one of Isuzu’s more promising enthusiast offerings sat well outside the main spotlights. After its success with the Impulse, Lotus turned its attention to the front-wheel-drive I-Mark RS Turbo and gave it a thorough going-over, too.
The I-Mark, “handling by Lotus” package included softer spring rates front and rear, as well as revised front-end geometry that included new strut mounting bushings and a 4mm-larger anti-roll bar. As it did with the Impulse, Lotus specified Armstrong dampers with single-tube gas shocks at the rear and gas struts at the front. In addition, the car was shot with Bridgestone RE88 Potenzas.
