These class 7 rear-wheel drive sedans were launched in September 1979. In 1982, the SEL’s engine was increased from 3.8 to 5 liters and in 1985 the body style was changed, ABS became standard and the SELs engine was increased from 5 to 5.6 liters. The were made in west Germany at Sindelfingen near Stuttgart. Executed with exceptional quality, these Mercedes still represent a solid investment for those who can afford them.
