If you looked over the Mitsubishi parts bins in 1989, you’d find any number of tasty items: turbochargers, intercoolers, computer controlled suspensions, anti-lock brakes, DOHC 16-valve engines, all wheel drive, and all manner of ancillary goodies. All this good stuff fit either the Eclipse or the Galant, which means the company could churn out more variants than white mice at a genetics lab. In fact, this mix ‘n’ match engineering approach accounted for Mitsubishi’s new for 90 Galant GSX. Those familiar with Mitsu-ese recognize the suffix from the Eclipse, signifying an all wheel drive sport model.
