The Stanza was without a doubt the most austere Japanese compact on the market, when compared to the 1990 Honda Accord, or the Mazda 626. This four door sedan has three trim levels: DLX, XE, and the luxury GXE which was very close perhaps too close to the Maxima. It was a very up to date vehicle with four wheel independent suspension, but its 0.36 coefficient of drag was conservative in spite of the styling changes. The Stanza was compact with some very fine qualities, the only problem it went by completely unnoticed.
