01991 Buick Reatta Convertible Test Drive
The Reatta was rounded, friendly, intimate and, in the neat convertible version, capable of putting you back in touch with nature’s changing moods. A striking Maui Blue exterior color, new for 1990, was a real attention getter. More important than the attention it got from onlookers was the attention Reatta kept getting from engineering people inside Buick as they made it better each season and a better car for all seasons.
Reatta convertibles and coupes received a redesigned instrument panel with analog gauges, a driver’s side airbag and tweaks that improved the operation of the switched and controls. There was a new steering gear for better on-center feel, and the additional insulation for less noise. Continuous improvement, it seemed, wasn’t solely a Japanese philosophy.
