51991 Suzuki Swift GA Test Drive
If you compare overall fuel economy numbers, it will appear that we have not really advanced very far. With EPA ratings of 39/43 city/hwy, the 1991 Suzuki Swift, was quite the fuel hoarder. But when you consider other advancements in the economy segment, such as government safety regulatory requirements, and the fact the the current party of economy cars meet them at the cost of extra weight, you can agree we now get penny pinching gas mileage, and defensive safety features together. For $6899 you get a two speaker stereo, and one ‘finding nemo’ exterior mirror, along with the choice of colors red, white, and ….. that’s all! Twenty years ago economy cars meant economy.
I Drive a 1987′ Nova Hatchback But My Next car Might just have to be one of these, I Alway did like these, they were pretty reliable and they got Excellent MPG.
Anyone know how much horsepower the 1.3L made?
70 horsepower
The Swift GTi was the one to have, with it’s 103hp 1.3 DOHC high-revving 4 cyl.
