Acura’s newest sedan had a 2.5 liter 20-valve inline 5-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally instead of transversely. Announced in the spring of 1991, as a ’92 model, Vigor filled the size/price gap between Acura’s entry level Integra and luxury Legend. It was derived from the Honda Accord 4-door, but had different styling and a wheel base stretched 2.7 inches, to 110.4. Both LS and GS models had standard anti-lock brakes and a drivers side airbag.
