11992 Cadillac Seville STS Test Drive
The 1992 Cadillac Seville was designed to make you forget all you knew about Cadillacs.
The 1992 Seville was as close as an American car company had come to delivering real “European” luxury sedan feel in one of its products. A tasteful new shaped was used for the sheetmetal (13 in longer overall than 1991) and guaranteed the aerodynamic (0.33 Cd) Seville was not mistaken for anything else on the road. The interior was similarly redesigned, using flowing lines and high-quality materials throughout. There’s ample room for 5, and an airbag was standard. Cadillacs superb computer command ride delivered an excellent combination of road feel, and ride and handling, while 16 inch radials and 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes provided sure-footedness. Power came from the torquey 200 horsepower 4.9 L V8 and moved to 60 miles per hour in under 9 seconds. With the price of approximately $34,500 the new Seville was a luxury class winner.
