1992 Infiniti J30 Test Drive

Mechanically identical, the two models of the J30 have a V6 engine developing 210hp, derived from the 300ZX. it has variable timing, direct ignition and a SOFIS injection system optimizing the acceleration responses. The seven gear shift positions on the four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission can operate either in the manual or automatic modes. The limited slip differential is a viscous coupling. The unitized steel body of the rear drive sedan has a substructure supporting the front and rear axles filtering out the noise and vibrations. In the front the suspension is a McPherson type when in the rear it is a multiple link suspension like the Q45. Its streamlined body attracts attention, but its aerodynamic drag is only average.

The jellybean shape of the J30 reminds me of the 1st gen. Altima.
