Acura’s 1993 Legend Coupe was an impressive ride. Honda’s taught car buyers to expect excellence, and this car met that expectation. But a price slightly on the high side, tough competition all around, and a crummy economy resulted in fewer Legend Coupe owners than Acura would have liked. So for 1993, Acura spiced up the offering and raised the level of excellence.
Acura gave the Legend some worthwhile improvements, making an excellent car even more attractive. Performance was exemplary, long-haul comfort was noteworthy, and Honda’s legendary technological innovations were applied with real world thoughtfulness.
Front seat passengers took a smooth ride in an interior that was both luxuriously comfortable and functionally proper. Rear seat room accommodated adequately a couple of real adults. The usual hot-rodding tricks of opening the intake and exhaust systems and revising the cam timing resulted in the 3.2 liter V6 now producing 230 horsepower. Performance went from pleasant and competent to firmly assertive.
