01993: Bravada Lives
Shooting from the hip, Olds general manager John Rock persuaded GM brass to keep the division’s sport utility alive, and he was not turning to Isuzu to do it. The Bravada would stay on the S-platform, and an all new version would debut as a 1996 model, one year after the Blazer and Jimmy.
One of the Bravada’s unique features separating it from the other S-based sport utes was SmartTrak, a full-time all-wheel-drive system. SmartTrak, a unique grille and trim differentiated the Bravada from its Chevy and GMC cousins.
