31993 Chevrolet Camaro Commercial – Life without Rock & Roll
According to Chevrolet, If America had never invented Rock and Roll we would live in a white washed world full of BMW Isettas. Instead, in 1993, we lived in a world of Jimi Hendrix, redesigned Camaros and spontaneous young Americans.
The year was 1993. Chevrolet had just redesigned the Camaro for the first time in 10 years. In doing so, they put their LT1 V8 and a 6 speed transmission together for the first time (in a Camaro) to create a muscle car which can still hold its own today performance wise. Chevrolet was so excited about their new Camaro they decided to tell the world in this advertisement, loosely linking their new muscle car with America’s ability to invent Rock and Roll. Makes you wonder what a commercial for the ’94 Impala SS would have been like. I’m thinking along the lines of “Bad to the Bone” similar to the print ads of “Bad to the Bushings”.
As a former owner of a 1995 Trans Am and the current owner of a 2001 SS (1LE), I can vouch for the performance of these under-rated f-bodies. Sure they have their quirks, but the LT1 and especially the LS1, is an absolute violent combo w/the 6 speed.
