By 1993 the Ford Bronco platform had been in production for well over ten years. The important change for 1993 was the addition of four wheel anti-lock brakes as standard equipment. Also, the 5.0-liter V-8 was now standard; the 4.9-liter inline six was no longer available. Other changes had to do with trim and options. With the optional 5.8-liter V-8, towing capacity was ample, and the Bronco had built a loyal following for people who used it to haul the boat to the lake, the family to the mountains, or clients to dinner.
