01993 Subaru Legacy Wagon Turbo Test Drive
The top-of-the-line Subaru received a standard driver-side airbag and improved anti-lock braking systems for 1993. Sedan and wagon body styles were offered, with either front, or all-wheel-drive traction. The base engine remained a 2.2-liter flat-four (130 horsepower), with the uplevel version adding a turbo (160 horsepower). Good torque across the powerband was a flat four’s major talent, and the turbo ran 0-60 mph in about 8.5 seconds.
