01994 Chevrolet Full Line Debut Commercial – “Genuine Chevrolet”
Recently, Chevrolet announced it is replacing its failed ‘Chevy Runs Deep’ tag line with a new ‘Find New Roads’, in an effort to create a global vision, and launch a slew of new models worldwide. To continue this campaign switcheraroo theme, lets review a past alteration to Chevrolet’s advertising.
While “Heartbeat” drew industry praise, Chevrolet’s market share fell during the run of that campaign. Voiceover in the new campaign’s 1994 launch commercial said: “You’ve probably never thought much about it, but chances are, at one time or another, you’ve had a Chevy in your life. Maybe it was an old truck you and your friends piled on Friday nights. Or the car you drove away in on your wedding day. Maybe it was the first car you bought with your own money. Or maybe it’s a car that, after all these years, you still dream of owning – someday. Whatever your story is, Chevy’s probably been a part of it.”
