01994 Dodge Neon Test Drive
Dodge and Plymouth both debuted a new low-priced econo-sedan in early 1994. Both divisions shared the Neon name for the front-drive four-door, a coupe version followed, but not until 1995. Designed to deliver performance and economy, as well as safety, the Neon included standard driver and passenger side airbags. Sized slightly larger than its Ford Escort and Toyota Corolla competition, the new Dodge was powered by a standard Chrysler-built 2.0-liter SOHC four-cylinder producing 130-horsepower and an optional DOHC version with 150-horsepower.
