1994 Dodge/Plymouth Neon Test Drive

Unwrapped in early 1994, the new front drive Neon brought Chrysler’s cab forward look to the small car arena and made value news with prices that started as low as $8975. Sold in identical Dodge and Plymouth guises, it boasted a new 2.0 liter, Chrysler designed overhead cam four cylinder engine with 132 horses. A twin cam version followed abut six months later. Thought not that much sportier than other Neon’s, the sport version did offer ABS, and touring suspension with one inch larger wheels and tires at a $12,215 starting price.
