01994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 Test Drive
Porsche announced its 911 line-up early for the 1994 model, trying to gain some extra mileage before the completely new 993 showed up. The biggest news was the highest performance Porsche the company had ever offered received the larger displacement engine, up fom the 3.3 liter engine of before. This pumped horsepower up to 355, an increase of 40. Extra wide tires in the back provide assistance in keeping things tied to the road. But once things begin to get out of hand, the rules of momentum dictated further events.
Porsche’s archetypal rear engine sports car provides all the traditional elements: classic styling dating to the 1960’s, unique and prominent exhaust note, powerful acceleration, and the simple ability to turn heads. This is, above all, a feel good car.
