1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo Test Drive

In the arena of two-seat mid-engined sports cars, you’d find names such as Lotus, Ferrari, and Lamborghini on the decklid. Which put the MR2 in with some pretty impressive company. Okay, so there wasn’t a polished 12-cylinder residing behind the drivers back, but a 2.2-liter four (130 horsepower), All you had to do was opt for the Turbo version to experience a full 200 horsepower delivered swiftly by a pressurized 2.0-liter DOHC four. That meant 0-60-mph times of six and a half seconds, handling prowess of 0.91g, and 60-0-mph braking of around a hundred feet. All for about what two year’s insurance on a Diablo would cost.
