To improve both interior room and maneuverability, the engineers widened the Cavaliers track and lengthened its wheelbase, but shortened overall length. Coupe, sedan, and convertible body-styles were offered, with a 2.2 liter four as the base powerplant and a potent 2.3 liter 150hp Quad 4 optional. The former V-6 engine and the wagon body-style were long gone.
