01995 Ford Crown Victoria Test Drive
A standard of many police departments and “over-50” buyers, the Crown Victoria delivered a big-acreage interior, comfy ride, and traditional full-frame family-sedan feel. Competing directly with Chevrolet’s Caprice, the rear-drive Crown Vic could tow up to 5000 pounds or just flat haul the mail, thanks to performance generated by its excellent 4.6-liter SOHC V-8 (in 190- or 210-horsepower trim). The 1995 version received a minor nose/tail restyling, a freshened interior, and added color options. Check out the handling and performance package that delivered 16-inch wheels, anti-lock brakes, a lower-ratio axle, and rear air suspension.
