It had been eight model years since this British cat had received a major redo, and the 1995 season brought improvements in power, handling, and luxury. The retro look remained in vogue with the world’s stylists, and the freshened appearance of this car’s bodywork was reminiscent of the 1970’s XJ’s, with four round headlamps, shorter/wider grille openings, and more curvaceous character lines. The base XJ6 and ritzy Vanden Plas shared Jaguar’s revised 4.0-liter/240-horsepower inline-six, while the sporty-oriented XJR got a supercharged version. Appropriately, only the XJ12 got the 6.0-liter/301 horsepower V-12.
