Increasingly, BMW showed that it wanted to be considered a full-fledged car manufacturer, able to offer models at every consumer level. With the 318ti, it’s goodbye to elitism and unaffordable cars destined for a small group of connoisseurs or buyers in hack up to their teeth.
The Bavarian manufacturer took a first step towards mass-produced cars by stripping the 325 of its superb six-cylinder and ts luxury accessories, changing it into a rather unattractive but relatively inexpensive 318 directed at buyers out to take a step up in society without straining their budgets to the breaking point.
