01996 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Test Drive
Whether you were shopping for a sharp-looking coupe or looking to collect some rays, Chrysler’s Sebring was worthy of your consideration in 1996. Available in LX and LXi trim levels in coupe form, and JX and JXi in droptop guise, the Sebring likely could be equipped to meet your needs, and taste. Coupes come with a 2.0-liter/140-horsepower inline-four, or you could step up to the 2.5-liter/163-horsepower V-6. The convertible had the same V-6 as its top offering, but the base engine for the sun-worshipper was a 2.4-liter inline-four that generated 150 horses. Cosmetic tweaks and equipment changes kept the Sebring fresh and flavorful for the new year.
