01996 Dodge Viper GTS Test Drive
Although it was officially a 1996 model, the Viper GTS coupe arrived late in the model year. The roadster went on hiatus while Dodge built enough GTS coupes to meet demand. Roadster production resumed later on in 1996. By enclosing the Viper in a cockpit, it became more practical and could be used at least minimally when the weather turned sour. Among GTS standard equipment were new dual airbags, a new instrument panel, adjustable pedals, a new CD radio, keyless entry and polished 5-spoke alloy wheels.
