11996 Nissan Pathfinder Test Drive
After several years in the same form, the Pathfinder finally decided to change its look. This SUV was having an increasingly difficult time fighting off a steadily more refined competition. So now Nissan updated the mechanical and aesthetic features of its sport utility. This model still fared well in terms of sales. In fact, the numbers were never so good.. The 4X4’s elegant lines and the publics keen interest in the category combined to spell success for the Japanese builder. But Nissan’s executives were well aware that it was time to develop a more modern version because the previous pathfinder couldn’t continue to prosper unless it underwent major changes.
These were nice utes, but woefully underpowered with the original 3.3L V6. The 3.5L that came along around 2000 was MUCH better.
