Often X symbolizes an unknown quantity, and few vehicles were as mysterious as the Suzuki X-90. Was it a car, a truck, or a sport-utility vehicle?
Suzuki reskinned the 2-door Sidekick, tossed out the back seat, and created the X-90 for 1996. It blended a high riding mini SUV with a sporty subcompact car. The X-90 had a traditional trunk, two bucket seats, adn dual air bags. The removable T-top roof panels were intended to provide more security from thieves than a soft top. The part time 4WD system and 100-horsepower 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine came from the Sidekick. A five speed manual transmission was standard, and a four speed auto, optional.
