1997 Oldsmobile Bravada Test Drive
If 1997 started out with a snowstorm, it would have been nice to be in an Oldsmobile Bravada because as always, it had SmartTrak AWD, replete with 4-wheel ABS and a locking rear differential. Not that some new refinements weren’t found. Standard for 1997 were 4-wheel disc brakes, a one piece liftgate and an optional sunroof. The luxurious leather laden Bravada also benefited from a more efficient automatic transmission. If there was any doubts about the Bravada’s all weather abilities, consider that it won its class in the Alcan Winter Rally held earlier that year in Alaska.
