01998 Audi A6 Quattro Test Drive
With a lengthened wheelbase, wider track, and a coupe-like roofline, the new Audi A6 had a far sportier, more aggressive countenance than its predecessor’s. That new image was backed up with the enhanced performance of a standard 2.8-liter/200-horsepower DOHC V-6 that used Audi’s new five-valve-per-cylinder technology to improve breathing. Coupled with a standard five-speed Tiptronic transmission and either front or all-wheel-drive, the A6 blended luxury and performance seamlessly. With additional room at all seating positions coupled with reduced noise, vibration, adn harshness, the new A6 made a very comfortable and competent high-speed cruiser.
