1998 Chevrolet Prizm Test Drive

With an ever-improving image of competitiveness and quality throughout GM’s familiar domestic nameplates, a specific “import” division (Geo) was no longer justified. So, if you were looking for a fine import-engineered sedan, look no further than your local Chevy dealership about the Prizm. Built right alongside its mechanical twin, the Toyota Corolla, in Fremont, California, the Prizm was extensively reworked for 1998, fresh styling to a well-thought-out interior with clever details and options. Only one engine was offered, a capable 1.8-liter/120-horsepower inline four (a weaker version of which was 1997’s upgraded powerplant).
