Two prerequisites were necessary to truly appreciate the Saleen Explorer: You must have driven a stock Explorer, and you must have road racing blood in your veins. Otherwise, you’d simply treat the Saleen version as a novelty or just another to in your garage.

Called the Performance Utility Vehicle by the team at Saleen Performance, this supercharged, all wheel drive tuner truck.  Steve Saleen was adamant about classifying his creations as specialty vehicles.  Saleen is quick to remind all that Saleen performance is a manufacturer, not a tuner.  his vehicles are sold only in selected Ford dealerships, all are emissions certified, and all the limited edition runs are built with matching specifications, unlike tuner vehicles that are based on a single buyers preferences.  All of Saleens vehicles carry the usual Ford Warranty, and they can be serviced at the dealership.
