1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS Test Drive

Although popular in other countries, Americans payed little attention to the world rally car scene. Subaru was very successful int he form of international racing, gaining much notoriety in Europe for its exploits. Americans, meanwhile yawn at such racing except for a few hard-core enthusiasts.

Well those enthusiasts benefited from Subaru’s rallying activities. The Impreza RS brought to American buyers many of the features that won those races. This was an all wheel drive coupe with plenty of power and nimble handling. The RS got the largest engine of any Impreza, the same 2.5 lither powerplant that topped the Legacy line. This engine made the Legacy GT a fun car to drive and did even more fro the lighter weight Impreza.
