01999 Chevrolet Corvette Hardtop Test Drive
For performance fanatics on a budget Chevrolet answered the call with a new distinctly styled hardtop version of the Corvette, Motor Trends 1998 car of the year.Priced below the existing coupe and convertible the hardtop was aimed squarely at the performance fanatic with standard Z51 performance suspension, a 3.42:1 limited slip rear axle, a 6 speed manual transmission only, and Big Goodyear Eagle F1’s. The coupe and convertible were essentially unchanged with the exception of a new optional heads up instrument display and an active handling system that became available during mid 1998.
