1999 Ford Super Duty Test Drive
Plenty of changes to Ford’s broad range of F-series pickups would keep blue-oval spotters playing catch-up for most of 1999. The early release Super Duty work trucks had a separate, larger platform from the F-150 and F-250 and featured new engine choices and GVWR up to a pavement-buckling 19,000 pounds. Meanwhile, both got restyled front ends and a strong 5.4-liter/260-horsepower SOHC Triton V-8 offered as an option. SuperCab versions now had a standard fourth door.
