11999 Ford Windstar Test Drive
With new styling inside and out, the Ford Windstar battled against an increasingly competitive minivan market. Dual action power operated sliding doors, versatile new seating possibilities, and front seat side airbags were just a few of the advances. Other handy features included a proximity sensing system that made backing up safer; there was also a personal audio system that let the front seat passenger listen to different audio material from the rear seaters. The Windstars basic 3-liter engine was a clean running ULEV unit, the 3.8 liter 200 horsepower top offering was one of the most powerful engines in the class and earned low emissions vehicle status.
