01999 Mercedes Benz CLK320 Cabriolet Test Drive
There were big doings in the CLK camp for 1999. Two new models joined the line. The CLK 320 Cabriolet offered sunbathing room for 4, with a power operated top and an integrated popup roll bar. Or should you feel more predatory, the CLK 430 packed a 4.3 liter 275 horsepower SOHC v8 under its hood, and boasted 6 second 0 to 60 MPH acceleration. It also had up sized brakes, recalibrated sports suspension, more aggressive looking lower body panels, and 17 inch wheels. Both the CLK 320 coupe and Cabriolet were powered by a 3.2 liter 215 horsepower SOHC V6 that teamed up with the standard 5 speed automatic to produce 6.8 second 0 to 60 MPH acceleration.
